with his weird,\u00a0lens-shaped<br \/>\nirises, clearly watching all of them at the same time. \u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/cynthiasamuels.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/lens-e1452549658564.jpg?ssl=1\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-3889\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/cynthiasamuels.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/lens-e1452549658564.jpg?resize=14%2C25&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"lens\" width=\"14\" height=\"25\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>For years I&#8217;ve used that scene\u00a0to describe kids growing up as our own digital natives. \u00a0Yesterday I was playing music on my iPad for my 16 month old grandson, and showing him how to do &#8220;play&#8221; with the arrow and &#8220;stop&#8221; with the double bars. \u00a0\u00a0When I decided it was time to switch gears and got out a book to read with him he took it from me and began pushing on a big red picture of the sun and sliding his finger, looking genuinely bewildered that nothing moved. \u00a0We&#8217;ve all heard an apocryphal version of this story but I now no longer need SNOPES to know it&#8217;s real. \u00a0Digital native indeed.<\/p>\n<p>So the visionary that was David Bowie transcended his amazing music &#8211;
