\"kneeling<\/a>Very seldom do I notice my age. \u00a0But as I have read the outpouring of grief and rage (which I share) over the Michael Brown grand jury verdict, I am deeply aware of the decades I lived before most of these friends, and other\u00a0writers<\/a> who are otherwise<\/a> strangers<\/a>, were born. \u00a0Things they learned about, but I lived through.<\/p>\n

With deep sadness and disgust, \u00a0I watched Robert McCullough in his starched white shirt and dark suit with his half-glasses perched on his nose like a college professor and knew what he would say. \u00a0His endless prologue foretold what was coming with an ego and naked self-interest that was dreadful to see. \u00a0But it wasn’t a surprise. \u00a0I expected nothing else.<\/p>\n

I remember the murders of \u00a0James Earl Chaney<\/a>,\u00a0Andrew Goodman<\/a>, and\u00a0Michael “Mickey” Schwerner<\/a>,, (see Awesomely Luvvie<\/a>) of Medgar Evers, Malcolm X, Dr. King, Viola Liuzzo<\/a>. \u00a0Brutality, incarceration, death. \u00a0I remember George Wallace in the school-house\u00a0door,<\/p>\n
